Business Development Sales Representative

Position Summary:

The Business Development Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue within an assigned territory through existing account management, business development and certified reseller channel. This position requires a high level of activity and use of a CRM (Salesforce) to manage your territory. The Sales representative will primarily be responsible to develop new business, acquire new clients and maintain/grow existing customer base. This role is focused on initiating, establishing and building strong customer relationship and act as a trusted advisor to clients.

This position will perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures.


Essential Functions:

  • Visiting customer & partner sites regionally as needed is an integral part of this role to provide demonstrations, assess customer needs, attend meetings and visit sites to help design the solution architecture.
  • Identifying the customers’ needs through solution sales and consulting.
  • To maintain close contact with customer and VAR in order to build good relationships during the period before, during and after the sale and deployment.
  • Document all communications in CRM (salesforce) and action points for follow up.
  • Set the expectations as it relates to actioned items and the installation timeline.
  • Work with sales channel and end users to sell the fully integrated suite of solutions to secure keys, assets, and people.
  • Develop new business to achieve Regional sales targets.
  • Continue regular contact with and support existing customer base as needed.
  • Keep up with national and local standards, requirements, codes, etc. that may apply to the installation of the products.
  • Participate in national and regional security shows and conferences as required perform other duties as assigned by the Manager from time to time. 

    Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
  • College Degree or relevant experience of 2-3 years
  • Experience in selling B2B, technology or solution sales
  • Experience of working within the security, access control or integration fields
  • Experience in long term relationship sales that require travel
  • Experience within security market or dedicated markets such as police, armed forces, telecommunications, casino, government agency, construction, NHS is a plus
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills
  • Confident in presenting to others
  • IT skills and competent software using Microsoft products

    Other Requirements:
  • Ability to fly and travel across States and inside Canada
  • Successful completion of our Background Check program (Criminal, Credit, and Reference)
