In this role, you will be a trusted professional providing customers with solutions to the company's material handling needs. Your primary focus as an outside sales representative will be on developing new business opportunities. Your secondary focus will be to work with the rest of your team in protecting and supporting our existing customer base by supplying a high level of customer service and building effective relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Achieves sales targets as determined by company

- Solicits new business within assigned territory

- Performs a customer service function including initiating and follow-up with customers to resolve problems as it relates to invoicing, products or services

- Prepare and submit call reports and monthly sales reports – as required

- Creates and maintains sales activity on a regular basis in the CRM system

- Maintains proper visibility/coverage within defined territory and reporting on such - as required (i.e. lost order reporting)

- Establish contact through cold calling and other potential prospecting methods.

- Prepares and presents quotes and recommends products or services based on customer business needs



- Exceptional communication skills and a strong desire to help and support the customer.

- Strong prospecting, relationship management, negotiation and closing skills.

- Able to use strong product knowledge to propose appropriate solutions.

- Strong Territory management skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication

- Able to create strong relationships and a understanding of the customer’s needs.

- Able to address and resolve road blocks impacting the close of a sale.



- This position requires the ability to travel to customer sites daily; a valid driver’s license is required.

- Previous Sales experience in the material handling industry or capital equipment sales would be an asset.

- Previous prospecting and cold calling experience.



Post-secondary or equivalent education proficiency and/or 1-3 years’ experience in an industrial sales position
